PLAY WITHOUT LIMITS

Whether you’re an adult or a school-age student,
here’s what Playing Without Limits means for you:

Learn music you enjoy. From pop to classical, TV/movie themes, Disney, worship, oldies, etc.
Learn at your own pace. Dana is known for helping students excel musically, challenging them to reach higher levels quickly and more easily than they imagined, never holding them back when they want to challenge themselves. Dana also appreciates when students need more repetition to grasp new concepts and quickly adjusts the pace to fit their learning style and abilities.

Achieve your dreams. Always wanted to learn but never had the chance before? Want a refresher to help you reach a higher level of playing? Want to play for the church worship team? What about a wedding or other performance? Dana can help you with it all!
Nail that audition! Want to attend SCAPA (School for Creative and Performing Arts)? How about playing for your school jazz band or accompanying the chorus or school musicals? Or play in your church youth praise band? Dana’s students excel in performance. She has an excellent record for getting students into SCAPA, and her students are encouraged to perform in and accompany school/church bands and musicals. Dana’s motto: Why only practice and never play in the game?!

KIDS
A 21ST CENTURY APPROACH TO LEARNING PIANO. Beginners learn piano through Piano Express, a lesson program where students play along with an app earning stars, jewels, and crowns for each song they master, learning at their own pace.
There are several advantages to this unique approach:
Self Assessment. Helps students learn to asses themselves instead of waiting for the teacher to tell them how they did, which fosters independence.
Faster Progress. Has been shown to dramatically improve a student’s skill level; Many DMS students are soaring through their beginner books 25% to 50% faster!
Motivating. Students have the tools at home to make progress throughout the week, creating more motivation and confidence, which solves the lack-of-motivation-to-practice problem that many students feel.
Students also have several opportunities for performance throughout the year, including recitals and paying it forward in the community performing at senior centers, etc.
TEENS
We strive to tap into a teen’s need for greater independence with challenges and goals that aim for a sense of achievement. Teens enjoy methods for older beginners with fun songs and genres they’re interested in.
Teen students earn rewards for completing weekly assignments, practice goals, and memorization. They also participate in occasional contests with incentives to keep them motivated and working toward their music goals.
Dana encourages students to play for the school choir or jazz band, perform at nursing homes, or play in the church youth band. She gives them the tools to reach the confidence they need to excel musically and use their gifts and talents for performance and ministry.
